Have a 2004 f350 6.0 bought it not running put a new hpop, ipr, icp, main engine harness, lift pump, injector harness, turbo,up pipes and all ford brand engine sensors. The truck does not have a maf the truck starts good and idle great the the turbo vgt sits at 77-80 % at idle and instantly goes to 84.99% once throttle is touched will drop down to 50-60 once off of the throttle then back to 77-80% coasting until on throttle again then 84.99% ebp map and baro all read the same 14.25 psi fuel pressure is 55-60 and only drops to low 50s at most had the same problem with stock turbo tried a new solenoid and now has a kc stage 1 turbo
early trucks 03 and I believe 04 relied on MAF for turbo calculation
is this truck tuned
this one did not have a maf from the factory no plug on the harness for one. I dont have a tune on it the egr was unplugged when i got it so it is possible the previous owner did have it tuned does show a code for egr but no cel on dash for it
So late 04 and up uses IAT to help calibrate turbo
Cold soak truck
post IAT 1&2 @ koeo should be same as ambient temp
p0102-60 MAF circut low
p0113-60 IAT circut high
p0403-60 EGR valve position control circut
P0405-60 EGR sensor A circut low
My truck only has one IAT and it is the one on the intake manifold and when cold it is reading ambient temp and increase as truck warms up

If you do not have a MAF, then you should have two IAT sensors.
I just find it odd no MAF but the pcm is throwing code for it
the pcm looking for MAF input it seems to want that input
something doesn’t seem right
was there any other codes for software compatibility issue
I ended up finding a pcm for a early 6.0 threw it in the truck and now it works perfect no maf code still have a iat1 code but it reads a inferred temp of 57 but seems to run right.

ok I wondered about that pcm and how it’s configured to truck
you never know when buying used Whats been done
Or maybe just bad
