I just purchased a 2003 with V10. It had corroded the junction box on the driverside fenderwell. The PO cut the cables and installed a 150A breaker. It looks like it had 2 12GA fusable links in the circuit. If those were removed will the breaker be ok or will that allow to much amperage and burn something up? I went to Ford dealer and parts dept couldnt find anything? Said harness is obsolete to find engineering # and he could maybe find a wiring diagram, i dont see any #s on the cable. It is from the + battery post to the aux fuses
I have a 99V10 myself. I'll look later, however in 99.9% sure there is no battery cables of the like on the dr side like you have. What or where is it going? thru the dash or?? I dont see why both were necessary on the same line, if I understand you. The link will melt leaving you dead in the water. The breaker will pop and you reset it and go. Obviously if a 150 pops you have a problem, but none the less. Working in a municipal environment with cops cars and fire trucks all of the lighting systems were on fuses or circuit breakers. Either self resetting or manual like the one in your pic.
