While I am doing research on the CCV delete kit, I found out that all the kit that vent to atmosphere do not contain a check valve. So it is not a concern for the crankcase to be connected to the atmosphere freely while the engine is not running? I mean that moisture can sure back into the crankcase and bug may get in as well.
The whole point of your CCV delete was that it vents to the atmosphere and not sending crank case fumes and oil through your intake. Your options are to put a breather end on the hose (or small air filter) to prevent bugs and small debris from getting through or, as mentioned above, put on a catch can. When I had a 6.7, I went the Mishimoto catch can route. It worked well but the install was not a lot of fun. Catch cans do keep everything 100% emissions compliant though, vent to atmosphere is not compliant if that's a concern.
Personally, if you go vent to atmosphere, I wouldn't worry too much about bugs, that hose is going to be pretty nasty, bugs won't make it far if they do try to climb that hose. Similar to water ingestion, water's not getting back through that hose unless you completely submerge it or dunk the end of the hose while the engine is hot and leave it there while the engine cools. If you park in a garage, you should know the vent to atmosphere hoses can drip oil from time to time. Not much, but you may notice a stain if you park on a nice clean concrete floor every day.
