I am working on a 1981 ford f100 front brake calibers i do not have old calibers for reference measured my rotors and its 11 inches all the calibers I have gotten do not fit and the ones I had gotten to fit i could not get the spring clip to fit just the key clip would fot im really confused on what calibers I need for this truck
On the calipers, and I believe this holds true for the 80 - 86 trucks but I know for a fact the 81's.
There 2 different calipers - 1 for non-power brakes and 1 for power brakes .......... dont ask how I know this as I have 1 of each
From your pictured it looks like you are trying to put the spring after the lock bar is in place?
The spring gets placed on the TOP of the bar with the hooked ends down over the bar so it cant slip off.
Then drive the bar & spring into the caliper & bracket till you can get the locking bolts in place.
Now before you go doing all that have you taken a wire brush to the slide mounting areas of the brackets to the calipers will side?
I also use a little Anti - Seize on the slides or they sell disc brake grease for this and I use the Anti - Seize on the locking bolts so they will come out at a later date and not snap off.

Been there, done this when I first got one of these trucks years ago. You have to lift up on the caliper and wiggle it around, and then there is room for the pin and the spring. The caliper is heavy, you have to lift it up fully and it will slide up where it fits in the top and give you room. Just make sure the bleeder is at the top. If it's not, you have the left and right sides swapped.
