Traction Control
Traction Control
Hey, everyone. I bought a 2010 F150 XLT 4X4 with the 5.4L and tow package this past October. The vehicle only had 30K miles on it and there were two issues when I purchased it. I had a cracked exhaust manifold (fixed) and the traction control warning light is showing in the driver information center portion of the dashboard.
I am at a loss at what it could be. I've ran many diagnostics on the ABS control module, wheel speed sensors, yaw, accelerometer, pitch, brake pressure, fuses, on and on. I can't figure out what's wrong. The ABS system is working, I confirmed that with a live test and in icy conditions (I'm located in Michigan). I'm seeing correct data being reported on all the sensors, and typically this is caused by a bad wheel speed sensor, which all 4 of them are reporting correct data while driving. I thought maybe it's an ABS tone ring, but that would probably throw the ABS light on, and the ABS system is working fine.
I don't really need the traction control, but it does help when pulling onto a busy road in icy conditions, or on dirt.
Has anyone else gone through a mystery like this? Any tips or anything I may be missing?
Thanks everyone.

Yup! Tested that too and was reporting correct data as well. I may replace it because in my 2012 Expedition, that caused the stability track to get screwed up. That's the only clue I really have is the steering wheel position sensor, so that may be it? It's a cheap enough and easy enough replacement to try at least.
