The smell started about a year or so ago every once in a while at start up( I have a company vehicle so I typically only drive my truck on the weekends).

but now it seems like it is all the time, not just start up.

When you fill it up, do you keep stuffing fuel in it to get that extra half gallon in? When that happens the vent filter canister gets soaked, and will always give off that smell of fuel. Also, you will notice that it wont fill up with the pump handle squeezed all the way, or will click off gallons before being filled, as there will be too much back pressure when filling.

 

no. When the pump shuts off I hang the nozzle back up. I have no problems with the truck taking fuel
