First "CEL" at 4,407 Miles

Well I almost made it 4,500 miles without problems. Got a "Service Vehicle Soon" message on the dash that won't go away. Also the yellow wrench icon. This seems to somehow be tied to the HVAC system because if I start and drive the truck with HVAC off all error codes go away and no messages on the screen. But the second I turn the HVAC on I instantly get the warning messages and wrench icon. Sigh....

So I'm driving my Jeep now as we've got winter storms coming this weekend, and a local Ford dealer is coming tomorrow to pick up the Lightning and take it to the shop for me.

Hopefully the dealer will diagnose and fix it quickly. I know that there is anxiety any time you get the dreaded Service Vehicle Soon message.

I use an iPhone app called "Car Scanner" with a BlueTooth OBDII device. In addition to all kinds of useful info it can give you related to your battery, efficiency etc, it can also display Diagnostic Codes.

Here is the OBD device I use Here is the OBD device I use

Let us know what the dealer determines.

Yeah I scanned the truck with ForScan and got 7 different codes. Everything from ABS system to active air dam to EV powertrain controller faults. So who knows.. still waiting to hear from the dealership. They've had the truck since this morning.

Dealership says the heater assembly has failed. Upon researching this on the other forum, I found a LOT of people who had the same problem, but most of them were 2023 models. It also appears that at one point there was a recall on 2023 models for this issue. So it's unfortunate to see that it's still a problem two years later.

Parts have been ordered and I'm just driving my Jeep until I get the truck back.

Looks like it was the cabin coolant heater, aka auxiliary heater.
