I am new to this forum I joined because i have a 93 F250 that runs bad but that's a different story. This story is about my dads 57 F100. He bought the truck in 1960 in 63 he put a 322 Buick nail head in it with a dynaslow trans. I was 3 and can still remember riding in it when it was done. He sold the truck to my uncle in 65 because he bought a new C10. In 2005 at my uncle celebration of life I asked my cousin where the truck was this is what I found.
At this point my only concern was getting it running so that is exactly what I did. To make this part of the story short I rebuilt the carb plugs and wires ran like a top. Now time to get it ready for a maiden voyage. And I'm talking 10 hours. So rebuilt the front axle gear change brakes and so on.

Dang, such a beauty.... Sure wish I had a 'pinstripe buddy' like yours. I always used to letter my own doors, but my old paws have been getting kinda shakey as time goes by. Back a few years I'd just toss back a glass of Ol' Jim Beam and i'd steady right up (well, good enough for me), Unfortunately the local cops here got fed up with my swerving and after whole ball of wax I decided to quit alltogether before I harmed someone. I think I posted a pic of my grand daughter lettering my tailgate in my 'kinda like a hot rod' thread.

I'll be the first to admit I'm pretty much a Ford in a Ford guy, but in this case, as good as it works, and knowing Dad did it, I wouldn't change a thing. And besides, nailheads are cool. This is awesome.
I must agree with the nailhead installation. I usually get dry heaves whenever I see the “wrong” engine in any Ford!
The nailhead is really old school cool in my book. They were very good engines back then as I worked on a few. How is the engine mounted to the bell housing? I know from past experience connecting a nailhead to a standard was a challenge.
It had the Buick Dynaflow behind it I always called it the Dynaslow. That trans finally failed which is what started it's next transformation. More to come.
