Weird Electrical Issue

I haven’t started to diagnose the problem because I had to hop in a different car and leave.

I got in the truck (94, 4.9L, E4OD), turned the key and it wouldn’t start. The weird thing is when I turn the key to Run or Start the interior dome light turns on. Or without turning the keys I can press the brake pedal and the dome light will turn off as well.

If anyone has any ideas of where to start that might save me a bunch of time I would appreciate it.

Sounds like a short to me
Hitting the brake and having the dome light illuminate is not good, and reminds me of the short I had in an old LTD
My brake lamp wire shorted out and cooked half the cars wiring behind the dash
I hope yours is not that bad
