Does anyone make a dual cone speaker that will mount under the dash and use the existing holes. My truck dash has not been cut into and I'd like to keep it that way.
Larry, I don’t know of any myself. Some have put surface mount speakers in the corners, or under the seat. I use my under seat area for storage.
If you look at my photos in my profile, there are a couple photos of what I did. From another post, I copied what another member did and it’s worked great. He’s a tin-knocker, and I asked him to make up a box that holds the speakers, like his, and he obliged. The box, lined with sound deadener to eliminate rattles, sits atop the gas tank, attaches to that little lip with two sheet metal screws. There are small pieces of sound deadener isolating the enclosure from the tank. The speakers and grills do extend out a bit, but tuck nicely into the built in hollow area of the seatback on a stock truck seat. I also have a two-way mounted in my dash, made by Retro sounds.
The photo below is of the other members installation, not mine, but mine is the same.
