Not sure how that 35,000 GVWR is dealt with in your area. In the US it would require a CDL with few exceptions for agriculture and RV. Can't see either applying. But I think you'll be able to figure that out.
Good luck with it!

It was sent to Dependable Tank And Rescue Vehicles in Brampton Ontario 20 years ago for a rebuild and paint job. But it's once again aged out to be a front line pumper so that's how I got to buy it.
So in return for your help, I can give everyone some information if anyone is in Ontario, Canada. Because it is over 30 years old, it qualified for "Historic" plates. So how that works is I had to get a safety on it to switch into my name, but now there is no annual inspection required. Nor do I need to keep my CVOR. It's the same as a car now. But because it has air brakes. if I ever get rid of my commercial drivers license, I would still need to keep my Z Air Brake Endorsement.
So in the eyes of the law, I am not allowed to work it or haul any loads with it. You are permitted to drive it to shows, parades or repair facilities.
And I got full coverage insurance through Haggerty Collector Car Insurance and it's very reasonable.
Here's some interior pics. Over the next while I will start cleaning it all up and making everything nice again.
is front box on it and build a 16 foot flatbed and just leave one of my antique tractors on it to take to shows. But I didn't realize the interest it was going to draw as an original fire truck. So I don't know if I will ever take it apart.
I'm happy enough just taking it out for a ride. Brings back a lot of memories of all the Detroit powered Ford dump trucks I ran in the past.
I chopped this pic just to see how it would look. (I just used google paint to hide the name on the door)
