Rear View Mirror Sensor
Yes, after installing the wolfbox and prior to doing this ghetto-mod, I found that the dash lights were super dim upon startup, then would eventually brighten up while driving. This truck isn't my daily, so I haven't spent enough drive time to determine if this ghetto solution totally rectifies the autodimming. Hopefully I can put some miles on the thing soon.
The firmware appears to have been released on November 3, 2025, if I am interpreting the numerical code at the end of the version revision number correctly.
While the update won't house Ford OEM equivalent sensors back in place, it is at least useful to know that Wolfbox can and does update the product via firmware revisions.
Therefore, if there are any other user and useabilty suggestions that Wolfbox should listen to, that could potentially be resolved by firmware, consider reaching out to Wolfbox via PM or via the thread link in the sentence above, to provide your input.
To work with Ford or other manufacturers light sensor for dash lights, Wolfbox would need to add a sensor and compatible interface plug.
Or include an enclosure mount to mount Ford’s light sensor circuit board… I’d prefer the first option where they provide the light sensor interface.
I was considering reaching out to Wolfbox on sensor interface question.
I'm happy to answer some questions here. I'll start with:
- Wolfbox dash cam doesn't equip with auto-dimming. You need to change the screen light manually in the setting.
- Regarding the needs for RV owners about the wireless cams, yes, we hear you.

- Wolfbox dash cam can be used as backup camera if you connect the rear cam correctly. Normally, red wire to the positive pole.
Wolfbox enhances the driving experience with vibrant and reliable automotive electronics.

IE, both sides and rear of a trailer? (does not have to be wireless).

You indicated in email that you didn’t have solution currently to house the OEM light sensor board.
As a possible cross platform enclosure, would be great if you could integrate a small thin enclosure box that would fasten to the back of your Mirror. Even if Owner needed to modify: cutting connector plug, foam tape to secure board internally. Mainly an enclosure that attached to your mirror would be very helpful.
