Greetings ya'll. Anyone happen to know the part number for this sensor, or where I could find it? Would like to have a new one on hand when/if the one I have decides to give up the ghost.
I checked on the line, but all I could find was the entire tank with the sensor. Would prefer OEM, just trying to avoid paying dealer price for just the sensor.
would wait for the empty alerts...then add 2.5 gallons...still indicated full
added a shot glass of non blue or non green dish washing soap and after a few hundred miles...the guage behave correctly....so something spooky was going on that the soap took care of.
since then..switched to premium def and use those def magic additives...and def guage is still behaving.

What's so special about the premium?
I buy DEF in 275 gallon totes, cheapest boxes in stores for across our fleet, including cat generators, I can't say I've ever had an issue.
Just picked up a new 26 F350 last week for personal use.
topped off @ 400 miles, just returned 2200 miles, 500 mile warning showed up at 1600 mi, it got the cheap crap.
I think for those that use a fair amount of def the cheap stuff is fine. I recall Fritz mentioning he uses 2.5 gallons a year, so that might be where he sees benefit.
I wish there was a way to zip tie the float all the way up, so I would stop getting DEF warnings when half full.
Ford designed the level sensor to be almost tamperproof. It would be tricky to fake it out because the 20+ DEF tank has an ultrasonic level sensor mounted to its bottom, which doubles as a “quality” sensor checking for dilution or contamination. The level sensor is integrated with the heater and temperature sensor on the pump unit.
Taken from the 2023+ PSD CoffeeTable book (the 2020+ is similar):
17-19 is probably also ultrasonic because the pump part number is the same as the 2020-22.
The 2011 (probably up to 2016?) level sensor worked like an RV’s holding tank.

All good…, I had previously looked into this over another thread after learning the level had changed to ultrasonic.
MyF450 was also asking about part numbers for DEF level? I believe the level sensor is integrated with the pump and heater, and the P/N is HC3Z-5J229-B
