When I disassembled the spring pack on my 62 Uni there were the remnants of a "button" that I assume was to make the spring work better by sliding. The leaf has a stamped recess to retain it. The 61 parts book doesn't have any break down of the spring pack (that I can find)
For what it is worth, I was able to purchase four of the correct "buttons" from Speedway Motors, that was all they had. I next called Posi's since it appeared they were the vendor and bought the balance from them. It appears that Posi's replicated the Ford design for the slider buttons???
