Hey forum, first post here. I have an 89 F150 2WD 4.9L C6 with 198k miles.
When I put it into gear, it lurches terribly (D forward lurch, R rearward lurch). Check out my videos of the driveline from transmission back. It doesn’t look like the transmission is moving so I’m thinking it may be the differential? What do y’all think?
It does go to high idle on cold crank and settles down after it heats up. I don’t know what it settles to though. Is the thought that my engine/transmission mounts are bad?
To me looks like your suspension is bad.
Your shocks are toast, and more than likely the springs are worn out.
Looks like real bad axle wrap happening at idle.
thanks for the reply. I think the leafs themselves are okay but I will look into the bushings and all the rubber bits that can go. I’ll see about changing the shocks too, they seem stiff rather than sloppy though.
