I recently changed plugs on my 2012 F350 6.2 gas (all 16) and coil packs. When I started it up I noticed I had forgotten to reconnect a large hard vacuum line to the intake. I put it back on but the truck had a slight tap. I took it down the road and the tap became louder and is constant. It changes with RPM and sounds like it's coming from all around the engine. You can hear it front and back, top and bottom. I saw a video of a newer 6.2 and the IMRC failing and making the noise, and Ive heard the valve springs could be a culprit, but it's not stronger on either side to me.
I may have left a vacuum line off, I've looked and nothing jumped out at me....Can someone show me in a diagram where the IMRC plug is on a 2012 6.2 so I can try to unplug it and see if it goes away? I thought I would try this before pulling valve covers.
I searched and didn't find anything on the location for a 2012 prior to posting this thread
