New here and looking for advice.

Hello, this year I purchased my first truck, a 1996 5.8L 4wd e40d XLT f150.
it started hard shifting, the OD light flashes and throws p0500 code, meaning my rear ABS speed sensor wiring is having issues?
I’ve replaced the sensor and the wiring harness, how do I test if it’s working properly?
in the process of checking the PSOM made my speedometer erratic and is sputtering even worse. I’ve hit a dead end in my diagnostic knowledge and I’m really bummed.
im thinking I didn’t assemble the dash cluster correctly when I took it apart, bc my left blinker isn’t indicating in the dash anymore, what else can I do?
I’ve been poking around with my multimeter and it reads .006 volts with the harness disconnected and the key on, shouldn’t it read closer to 9?
i can’t seem to find the correct diagrams to tell me what’s going on.
ive read other forums trying to find answers and everyone mentions ABS light in the dash, the only light that ever came on for me is the OD light. I never got a check engine light either.
i took it on the highway for a test drive and it started swerving off the road, I’m not sure if it was the truck itself or the snow and ice, what is going on. Don’t flame me I’m not an electrician lol.

I think were going to need more detail, especially with the "swerving off the road" part. It could very well be the snow and ice. What makes you think it is the truck?

sorry about the lack of clarification, I’ve got a little update now that I’m not so frustrated.
I let my dad test drive it and all he has to say about it is it has a clunky down shift. (Could be a u joint)
when I had test driven it i was in 2wd on the ice and I was afraid that it felt weird because I screwed up somewhere or something, but all Is well and my work so far fixed the harsh shifting (Except down, which could have been an issue before I started working on anything).
my left blinker is working, and I was worried bc my dome light wouldn’t turn off but apparently there’s a feature in the headlight **** that if turned all the way left it will stay on even with all doors closed.
my only issue at this point is the speedometer, I think tinkering around more carefully this time will give me an answer, either that or it’s because i bought a cheap napa abs sensor. (I will be replacing that before I tear it apart again.)

This is a common feature of cars that have the pull **** like that for headlights. Turning it all the way the other way should gradually dim the dash lights too.
