Before I break something and screw myself I’m gonna ask some questions and hope someone has take one of these apart. I’m trying to replace the handles and spline shaft assembly on the sliding door. Mine broke off, pictured below(broken from inside).
My problem is I can’t slide this out from the outside. I’m 90% sure all that’s fighting me is the spring clip on the next picture, with red and blue drawings on it. As far as I can tell tha “spring clip” is holding back that cylinder like thing from sliding out the door. Anything I’m missing here that anyone knows of?
Also just to add, I can’t seem to get the outside handle off. The screw is off but handle doesn’t seem to want to slide off. This is on my van and replacement part I have. I don’t think the handle needs to come off for this to be changed, but again maybe I’m missing something. More pics of that below
