As the title says, trying to figure this out. I know these are all trim levels, but when I do the VIN decoder on this site, it says I have an XL, but the truck itself has an XLT badge, and when I added it to my insurance, they seem to think it is a Lariat? I don't have the window sticker or a build sheet for it. Is there some other way of finding out for sure?
There are places you can get a window sticker, even post on this site and a guy at a Dealer usually helps. How it was built is what your insurance will be based off. Sky is the limit of altercations and modifications made after day one.
VIN decoders are garbage. If you post some information and pictures of the interior and exterior, we can help you. However, the XLT badge is probably correct.
FInding the dorder gide for your model year and digging trhough that is an option, but it could take a while.
If you don't have the faux leather on the dash, 4 auto, and fancier digital gauges gauges. it's not a Lariat. If you don't have at least a power driver's seat, it likely isn't an XLT, unless it's a base 300 trim. In some cases an XL can be better equipped than an base XLT, and a loaded XLT can have more options than a base Lariat.
If you's is an XL. The tire size in the door jamb sticker can tell a lot, unless it came from the factory with 20" wheels. Some XL Sports, or STXs can be surprisingly well equipped, but they wont have power seats. Also, Unless a Lariat was somehow equipped with a 40/20/40 seat, it will always have a console shifter.
I've seen one of the rare true lariat with column shift and 40/20/40 seat. Very neat truck.
So OP, what year is your truck? post some pics, we'd love to help you here but there's no info for us to work with.
Pictures...what a novel idea LOL, sorry about that, here ya go
it's a 2019, i have power seats, faux-leather touches on the center console and arm rests, nice gauges, column shifter, XLT badge, FX4, trailer backup control, and my tires are 275/65 R18, and the last 8 digits of my VIN are KKE80317
Looks very similar to my 2020 F150 XLT 302A. Although I'm up in Canuckistan so our trims always have small differences. Still I'm confident that IS an XLT truck just like the badges say.
Agreed, 302A XLT. The tell is power seats on the passenger side. Not a Lariat, as there is no fake leather on the dash, no leather seats, all analogue gauges, and no 4 auto function.

Thanks gents! Appreciate the feedback. I was leaning to XLT myself, but wanted to make sure. I will add that info to my signature once I can do that here
Now the question is, should I tell my insurance company of their error? Would it matter?
There's a teeny tiny chance that they'd pay you out on a total loss based on lariat pricing, but I think if it was me, I'd want the teeny tiny discount from it being an XLT. Probably not high priority either way.
On a truck more than 5 years old, miles and condition dictate value more than the package it has. A King Ranch that was worked hard, and has 120k miles will be worth less than an XLT with 80k miles, that was well cared for, and not worked hard.
Everyone should make sure you keep maintenance and tire receipts, and take occasional pictures of it, so that you can argue value with a claims adjuster. The first offer an adjuster makes on a total, will be for a base truck at auction value. You can negotiate with them, show the condition of your truck, and show them retail comps. Never take their first offer. And never allow them to find and buy a comparable replacement for you,
