Has anyone else gotten this notification from Ford yet?
I got one today, reading through it it seems to be only for trucks with the 360-degree cameras, which my truck doesn't have.
Now, this recall notice has my truck's VIN on it, shouldn't Ford know my truck doesn't have the 360-degree camera system on it???
Your trucks camera would be the same part number as the 360 system so it is included in the recall. They just make one document for everyone and just change the VIN and any owner info if it's on it.

But, the recall says the the front cameras get too much light which affects the rear camera, so if my truck doesn't have the front cameras, then the rear camera on my truck shouldn't be affected.

It is the rear camera according to the recall letter, and it is affected by the front cameras, causing dark spots.
As to a fix, I am betting it will just be a software update.
I got it in the mail as well. The scenario they describe in the letter is what I've mumbled about for months. When I back into the barn to park or grab a trailer or something the rear view camera is unless, it's just solid black. The front camera being in the sunlight must adjust the contrast or something on the system rendering the rear view useless. It doesn't actually show an image until I am almost mirrors deep n the barn so almost all the way.

I got mine yesterday. This morning the front camera blanked out (no picture black) for the first two starts of the day and then started working again.

Mine's been doing the same thing for a while now. Almost every time I leave the car wash, come to think of it. That probably is a light front dark rear situation, but why is the front blacked out?

My truck is parked outside and it is in full sun so it definitely wasn’t a light /dark situation. This is the second time it happened. Next time it happens I will have to take some pictures as it is intermittent. It should be covered by the extended warranty.

FWIW I also have the 360 camera system.

Same on mine from time to time, seems like no rhyme or reason for it. It will be interesting to see if the recall fixes it, or what they do for you under warranty.
I just got a letter yesterday. When I'm backing into my garage my backup camera is basically black while the rest of the cameras are getting dull light. The backup camera doesn't lighten up unless the rest of my cameras get shaded. I do have 360 cameras.
I can't believe this is a recall. Got mine in the mail yesterday. Front and rear cameras are being controled by ambient light on the front I believe. Not a big deal really. Thats what mirrors are for. A lot of folks use the camera as their sole source for looking behind and have no idea how to use a mirror.

It is because backup cameras are federally mandated for safety.

Or have to......
I back into the barn in front of my pontoon boat and the only way the truck and boat fit in one door stall is if the tongue of the boat trailer is under the truck. I can't see that information in my mirrors. I need to make sure the tongue of the boat trailer is on one side or the other of the hitch, not right in line with it. Mirrors are useless when trying to figure out if I am going to hit the hitch or not.
I received the recall yesterday; my letter says it is already complete via OTA software update. I have never had a problem with my cameras. However, I seldom back into a dark space and when backing I use mirrors; so, maybe I didn't notice.
