I went with Mag-hytec on the trans, diffs and engine pan.
They arent gawdy with their name Extra Extra large plastered on the piece. They are far more discreet...looks cleaner. If t the others didnt have their name in 240 point font, maybe id consider them instead.

And the flat back guys are discreet with their inherent design flaw... LOL

He's a Salesman...he's got to sell his products. Like Nate at Nextgen drivetrain. Badmouth your competition to sell your products...Brilliant marketing.
Banks and Nate both have that in common. If they focused on the attributes on their own products and NOT trashing others', they would be looked at as more stable companies.

I do very much agree, it's a turn off that ole Gale can't help but trash talk everyone else... saying that, I do have several Banks products. It wasn't his salesman's techniques that sold me on them, but the products themselves. As for the large font branding... that's not really a concern either. Unless you crawl under my truck, and I mean all the way, you won't see the PPE branding on the trans pan. The Banks rear diff is a little more noticeable, but again, you have to crawl under the truck to see it. The spare tire hanging down blocks most of the rear diff cover, however, these aren't hard to pick out of a line up. I personally don't have issues with this though.

There's nothing wrong with pointing out your competitions weaknesses, especially if their products can be detrimental to your vehicle/investment. Ford has done these comparisons for years. Remember "The Truth About Trucks" series that was sponsored by Ford.

Looks like PPE that was in Gales video reconized they have a design problem with their flat back design and has designed a new cover with the arch to support proper fluid flow. So why did they do this? Perhaps because they were called out?

Sometimes its GOOD for flaws to be pointed out by others. In a way is enhances competition between brands, keeps the market alive. Banks does point out why his products are better than the competition, trashing the competition is the side effect of it. His pedal monster is better than pedal commander and he shows why its better, and the whole point of replacing the diff cover is to get a cooler running gear set. I was watching Ray install a set of banks pans on a dirtymax, and the oil pan had ribs inside as well as outside in order to cool the oil better. Little things like that is what makes a product better than the others, and thats what he points out It probably could be done in a less bashing way, but it gets the point across.

in a way as pointed out above, it also helps the competition improve their product.

Keep in mind if you have the M275 the lowest bottom bolt when removed acts as an oil drain and works perfectly well. Might save you from buying two diff covers?

Good luck,

Mike

I agree, calling out other products does help engage better design, however, Gale is obnoxious about it. He seems to be more interested in trashing other companies (not even necessarily their products) moreso than just presenting his own products. His products are good products, and IME they seem to speak for themselves. There is no sense in him being so petty about his competition.

Gale is your typical engineer.

^ I have the same pan on my 2019, it is starting to rust and the drain plug looked like crap so I swapped it out for a stainless steel one but for the $24 or so I paid for it 2 years ago I am still doing just fine.

I also grabbed the 2008-2010 diff cover for my sterling, it was like $50 at the time. Fit and finish is identical to the Ford one I put on my 2002 back in the day.

Won't help the Dana folks but the sterling trucks is a good bang for your buck. I kept the OEM cover on the front diff.
