5.8 engine noise
I have a 95 Bronco with a Jasper 5.8 long block engine that has around 5000 miles on the new engine. The other day it developed a clacking noise that turns into a kind of whirring noise when you rev it up. I thought it might be a broke valve spring so I took off the valve cover on the left bank and checked rocker movement but they all look to move correctly. I just had a new torque converter installed and trans and transfer case rebuilt and drove it 150 miles home. It ran great. Turned it off in Walmart parking lot and when I started it that’s when I heard the noise. Does anyone have any ideas where I should go next? Does this sound familiar to anyone. Engine has a slight shudder at idle. Can’t find any exhaust leaks. Engine seams to run fine other than the noise. Any ideas and insights? Thanx in advance for any and all help.

Who installed the torque converter, you or a shop?
