"dropping" the interior fuse box - how?
My first question, and apologies up front if this is already covered in these forums. I searched every term I could think of, but did not find anything.
I was able to remove the "soft cover" to get to the cab fuse box. And removed the box cover. But I simply cannot figure out how to get the fuse box to "drop" down, so I can work on it.
I unclipped the grey tab on the driver's side of the fuse box, and the box dropped a little bit. But no more.
Is there something else I need to release?
Many thanks.
I crawled up under the box and looked for screws holding the box in place, but didn’t see any.
Any suggestions for where to find such screws?
Thanks
First, you have to remove the fabric cover, so you can get to the fuse box area. I'm not showing that, it's just 3 plastic fittings, along the front.
Then, remove the glove box; drop the box by releasing the tabs on each side of the box, and then lift the box off.
To drop the fuse box, you can remove the box cover, or leave it in place, doesn't matter.
There are two clips which hold the box in place. One is on the side, toward the driver. The other is on the side toward the passenger. I've included pictures below. I also have a short, not-professional video, showing the release of the clip toward the driver. Release both clips, and then kind of wiggle the box down, and free. To fully remove the box, pull up on the big clamp.
Hope this helps.
