E4OD transmission swap
Ive got a 96 f150 with a 5.8 and it blew the tranny a bit ago, I got a 91 e4od to swap into it. From what Ive read and seen all I should need to do to get it to work is swap the solenoid pack to the newer 95+ pack and possibly something with the mlps sensor.
Is all that true, would that be it to swap it in and have everything working as it should or is it more complicated than that? If anyones done it or knows how itd work any help is appreciated!

1991 model year trucks use a linkage style shifter. 1992 and up use a cable. Swap the shifter crank when swapping the solenoid pack. And yes to the MLPS, assuming the 1991 donor has the older design still on it.

Thank you, I thought id heard something about the shift linkage but couldn’t remember. Hopefully will have it in and working soon!

I would not put in an E4OD transmission made in 91. Even if I got it for free. There are so many issues on the early ones that my luck I would just be removing it again. Maybe, the trans has already been gone through.
