After a "CKP sensor reset" is it necessary perform a "CKP sensor relearn" through a diagnostic tool? Thanks in advance!
For what it's worth and why i ask.
Truck ran great prior to reset. I was playing around with a Solus Ultra and reset CKP sensor for no reason and now truck idles perfect with occasional stumble, when I rev up in park stumbles between 1000 - 2000 RPMs. When driving stumbles, bucks at same RPMs and occasionally stalls with P1177, P0335 codes set.
Yes you must do a relearn sequence with an appropriate scan tool. Right now your ECM is receiving information that it is not used to seeing so it is tripping a code.

Thanks for the quick reply yesterday. You saved me from wasting my day looking for problems that are not a problem. I couldn't find any procedures on my "snap on Solus ultra" or a friends "snap on Zeus" that had anything to do with a CKP relearn or "misfire monitor neutral profile correction" learn. I'm going to see if I can find the procedure on "FORScan" today. I will finish this thread as soon as the truck runs correct. There's not much info out there that goes into any detail for this application.
I use IDS and it is called "Misfire Monitor Neutral Profile Correction" If FORSCAN does not have that option you may need to a PCM reset. If you have tunes installed you may lose them so make sure you do a backup. A KAM (TCM) reset will also "sometimes" reset the CAM and Crankshaft sensors as a workaround.

Ok truck runs great. Thanks for steering me in the right direction. Using FORScan in the
PCM reset MAF sensor adaption
PCM reset pilot injection quantity learned values
TCM clear transmission adaptive tables
TCM reset all adaptations
And last procedure was back to the
PCM module initialization/relearn vehicle data
Drove the truck 10 miles or so around town without a hiccup and 300 mile round trip over the weekend it ran perfect. thanks again and I hope this thread will be helpful to anyone who may have the same issue.
