Ignition help
I have a 94 F150 4x4 that originally had a 351w paired to a M50D 5 speed. I swapped in a naturally aspirated 1968 429 and paired that with a 1997 zf5 5 speed. I’m replacing all of the gauges in the truck to aftermarket mechanical. So I don’t believe I’ll need the pcm for anything really. I’m just thinking about keeping the functionality of the oem ign key on the column, but trying to determine how to go about wiring the ignition.
I just rebuilt a 78 f150 with same motor. Upgraded the dizzy and got an ignition wiring harness from painless. That was pretty straightforward plug n play. But on the 94 the ecm (if I recall) was on the distributor….. can I get a fender mount ECM and use the same harness I used on the 79 from painless? Or perhaps there’s an easier / more efficient pathway that I’m just not seeing…. Thanks for any help

I'd go ahead and use a Duraspark for the 429, and use the factory stand alone Duraspark ignition module, with no processor controlling the timing
That way you can play with module tab color and advance weight slot and springs to adjust the timing

Harness I was planning to use
Icm I planned to use
Icm I currently have now
so the oem is in fact a fender mount icm, but not similar to the one I did in my 78 (shown also) that was plug and play for the harness I was hoping to use (also shown)
thoughts?
