Depending on your mechanic skills, but you can get a spare head from a junkyard. Take your time, watch videos and read forums. Port the head to help it flow better. When you install, put higher ratio rocker arms, you’ll notice the difference. If you do the work yourself, the price/hp gain is worth it.

Yep, port the head. 1.72:1 Scorpions. 3.55:1 gears. Regrind your cam for a bit more ***, cam cores are very hard to find for the L6. High flow muffler of some sort.
That is about it that will pass smog and still allow use of the stock fuel injectors.
