So ive got a 91 f250 w/460 2wd. Trans was rebuilt or only clutches was replaced should i say. Now this may be a stupid question bc it sounds so obvious that its the pump but anyhow so itll drive pulls good in every gear has all gears although reverse does feel like its trying to go super fast! Then maybe 15 to 20 mins its quits pulling and starts making a funny noise and u have to cut it off and let it sit a min or 2 then it will pull again. Any ideas?
4R100 pans have drain plugs and are 4wd depth, requiring a 4wd depth filter. A re-builder would know to match the filter to a pan, one would hope though haha.

one key piece of information I should have included this truck did Drive fine for about 2 months maybe three I think after the rebuild after something happened and it quit pulling I had to turn it off for a few minutes at a time to get it home once I got it home I did several fluid and filter changes which is not cheap when it comes to these e40d's there's Big Shiny pieces of metal like something has come apart but like I said the transmission still pulls fine in every gear until it gets up to operating temp and it quits pulling even overdrive and Reverse is still there
I don't know about everyone else, but I would not drive it until it just stopped running. Especially if you got shinny stuff on every oil change.
right it is just parked at home it's been sitting for a couple two or three years now I was just trying to put it out there that it does have every gear I don't drive it cuz I'm afraid that it may burn the transmission up driving it the way that it is but that is what it does
Checking the fluid at operating temp is a good thing.
If it is good, as mentioned above, does the filter match the pan? A 4x4 filter won't fit a 4x2 pan, but a 4x2 filter will fit a 4x4 pan.
well you guys that fixed my truck that's been sitting for 4 years all because of a shallow pan filter in the Deep pan on a two-wheel drive truck the guy told me he put a drain pan on the truck for me because it did not come with one but he did not tell me that it was made deeper and I did not know the difference back then my old 91 is back on the road appreciate y'all guys feel pretty stupid for that one
