Please help. My boxvan is down and my business depends upon it. Had to get a UHaul.
This morning I started my truck, began to back out of my spot, and simultaneously the backup alarm and reverse lights stopped. Thought that was weird so I put it in drive and crept forward and then put it back in reverse with no change. I put it in park and turned it off. Tried to start it and it was all crank no start, in fact the starter keeps cranking without putting pressure on the ignition until I turn the key back to off. I have checked all fuses and relays to the best of my ability. I suspect it’s the transmission range sensor (neutral safety switch) but since it’s behind the trans pan I would rather not just throw the part at it. Wouldn’t it have no crank at all if that were the case? I have tried jiggling the gear selector while cranking with no luck both in park and neutral. Truck has 128,xxx miles and ran just fine before this. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
No reverse lights, brake lights work in all gears except reverse, and my height indicator lights on the unicell box only work in reverse. Prior to this no issues whatsoever.
i just copied this from my Reddit post, i did change the range sensor and that code is gone. Only code I have is for evap and scanner shows the pressure is a little high. Thank you for your time, and any advice would be greatly appreciated

I assume you're not loaded with special tools
Plog in a good scanner and see what it says
You need to be able to watch the TR sensor PID (parameter identification data) and watch the range sensor function as you move the gear selector
External controls? A malfunction like a frayed shift cable comes to mind
All that stuff needs to be checked
It might just need a "flood clear" start for the not firing up issue
Some aftermarket TR sensors are not worth their cardboard box
If you can't read the pids, I'd maybe hit a junkyard for a factory one to plug in and try it
