complete tune up -plugs, wires, rotor and cap, air filter, fuel filter,pcv +breather oil change . Maybe you would want to rebuild the carborator and make sure it is clean and properly adjusted .
then check your air pressure in your tires check your brakes to see if they are dragging .

Thanks, I've done all of these. Are there other carbs out there that might be better. Different intakes? Headers? would vacumn problems have any bearing on mpg's? The vacumn diagram under the hood is unreadable. where can I locate one?
