I have a 1956 F600 that had a 272 engine that went south on me.I replaced it with a 292,my question is is there any casting numbers on the motor that would tell me what year it was made? Thanks for any help.
The block casting number, such as EDB-6015 would give information on the specific block application and help narrow in the date.
An engine assembly date can usually be found stamped in the block just under and to the left of the thermostat housing. The first number represents the year, the second character the month, and the last character represents the day of the month.
