Hi all this is maybe more related to the vintage photo thread, but as I am posting nothing with a photo, I will drop it into a new thread here. That said, my wife and I have been watching a new to us series on Netflix called "Dark Winds" that appears to be based on the characters from the books by Tony Hillerman, that I read some twenty years ago. The books are great, and so far we are enjoying the series too.
What does this have to do with Slicks? Well the story is taking place in the early '70's and about every few minutes I have to pause the show and sometimes back up, cause there is no shortage of Fords, Unibodies, Dodge, GMC and Chevy trucks from the 50's through about '71. Ok, a whole lot of other cool autos as well, but as this is a dedicated Ford Truck website, I thought I would stick to the important info.
My wife and I are watching Season 3, and it takes place in '71, lots of Slicks, and sadly, they destroy a '66 (from the grill at least)...that was not OK, but its still fun to see a modern program, using cool older rides.
Agreed, I was born in '71, but still remember so many of the late '60's and early '70's cars and trucks. Some of season threes architecture is not necessary period correct, but they still have done a nice job keeping most things relevant.
