4x4 not working
1991 F150 5.8 Auto trans 4 by 4. Manual locking hubs We had our first snow and guess what?? no 4 wheel.
Light on dash, when I checked the drive shaft it felt like it was engaged. When I first pulled the lever I felt a slight vibration.
Question (1) Had brakes done can this have anything to do with this problem? shop had to remove hubs to do this work.
(2) What else can I check??

How mechanical are you? The shop shouldn't of caused any problems,but you know how that goes. Jack front end up and engage you hubs, not the 4 wheel drive lever. Rotate shaft at the front wheels and see if the hubs lock. If they both do ,good deal. If not they will have to be serviced.
