I have an F350 with a slide in pickup camper. When I’m loaded an ready to travel I’m about 400 pounds less than my mex Gros weight. I need a Jack that can lift a wheel up so I can remove a wheel or plug a leak. The Jack that comes wit the truck is wimpy. What do people us that works with a loaded truck?
You can absolutely use the camper jacks to help unload the suspension - in fact you probably should.
I used to carry a 6-ton bottle jack years ago when used trucks almost never came with a jack because it got thrown out. FIL insisted on carrying a 12-ton jack, not sure why since the most you should be picking up on the road is ONE CORNER of the vehicle.
The jack that comes with the truck should absolutely be able to lift one tire of an unloaded truck off the ground, even in the front with a diesel engine.
Some folks use a much larger jack because higher capacity bottle jacks tend to have a wider and more stable base compared to smaller jacks. While the OEM jack is ok for a flat level hard surface in ideal weather conditions, there are plenty of situations you may find yourself in where a larger (more stable) jack would be desired. I travel with an off-road floor jack but for regular driving around local, I use a high-range bottle jack from US Jack.
