56’ dash pictures/feedback

Got a few extra switches and holes in the dash. Hand throttle **** is ivory vs black. Wonder if the holes in the ash tray are for a handle? Did these come with ***** there? I have a large hole from a pull and lock style handle that I think was for a bed accessory maybe a dump. Is one of these by the head light switch for a dome light? Love to see pictures of your 56’ dash. Need to address some of this -idea of maybe in set gauges under the ash tray. 12volt accessory outlet in the big hole…

Here is what I found found that shows a labeled very clean 1956 dash. I am sure Abe and a few other experts will give you more guidance than I can. I have never seen a handle on the ash tray, so I am interested in the possibility.

Dandee, I can't help you here as I have a 54. Kevin (BigWin) is one of our resident 56 experts.

That pic is wrong at least for heater control. Heater control is under dash- Either 2 ***** or 3 depends on if recirc or outside air heater. My dash has factory holes for throttle cable and choke cable which I filled with old seized up cable ends just to look finished, I'll see if I can get a pic.

upper right is lighter, lower ones are throttle and choke ( can't remember which is which) below dash is heater/defrost.

Thanks on sharing the dash photo, I do have the under dash heater controls too- forgot about that. Wonder if I remove the throttle, slide my choke over and remove my right side mystery toggle if I could move those up to the dash. over under.

great timing, I was disassembling the dash yesterday and was wondering why I had a switch hole that was so oversized…it would have been where the cigarette lighter would have been.
