Hands free garbled.

When i answer or make a call through sync 4, it sounds like a very bad overseas call. I can hear words but can't possibly understand them. I have to send the call to the phone and use speaker. Is there a way to reboot sync or something. Very annoying.

Year of the truck? My FIL had a '22 that had this issue over wireless but plugged in it was fine. Some years were better about this than others, but it was a pretty common issue. Not sure if new updates to Sync and/or phones fixed it, it did for some but not others. It could ALSO be the radio unit itself being bad - some guys had theirs replaced and it fixed the issue as well.

It's a 22. I can't get it in for service now. It'll have to wait until I'm back in Texas.

Yeah I believe there was an issue back then. Try plugging your phone in instead of connecting via bluetooth, it may or may not help.

Actually, it was connected by cable, or so I thought. I disconnected the cable and tried it, same problem. Put the cable back in and now it seems to work ok. Perhaps the cable had a bad connection and I was actually on bt even though the phone was charging.

You can reboot sync by mashing the power/volume **** and the right seek button on the radio. Hold till it powers off.

Try the truck reset. Then test. Make sure the phone is up to date as well. Then do a hard reset on it. That way both the truck and your phone are fresh. See if the problem persists.
