I had removed my DIY battery top cover on my '77 and am just cleaning it up, might repaint it even, maybe add a couple pieces trim to create a safe place for the odd nut / bolt / etc to lay while I work on something or other. No danger of anything hitting the battery positive post with the cover in place.
Then I see these 4 added / fused wires,
leading to the polarized battery maintainer plug in my grille,
leading to the relay for high beams,
leading to the relay for low beams.
and there is a another one planned for a relay for my Unity fog lamps.
There is a 10 amp circuit breaker for trailer running lights relay, guess I could put a 15 or 20A fuse ahead of the C-B.
Then I thought "this is a mess" and so I browsed in my electrical stuff storage cookie tins and found a 6 circuit add a fuse kit I bought to add to a Gold Wing for things (which I sold first) and wheels turned. I can hang it on a mount on the metal plate beside my truck's battery. I can feed it with one large wire with a 40 amp fuse, it'll take 100 I think but 40 or so is enough as I'm not gonna run everything at once. Pull the juice at the big battery terminal on the start relay, not the battery terminal. I think I paid maybe $25 for it from a MC accy seller. Seems well made too. Be a shame not to use it.

Reason: discovery
I bought one of those and didn’t end up using it, but I’d say go for it.
The only caveat being I’d feed with a fusible link (probably 16ga, but no bigger than 14ga), then fuse it.
May be unnecessary, but I like the added protection and piece of mind of being able to upsize fuses for short blow, and having a long blow link (like a duel element time delay fuse for equipment).
Also added insurance for Chinese stuff.
I tidy-ed up my wires, consolidated some, got the fuses out from under that wood protector on the battery top and moved them into easy to get to weather proof holders, and give the fuse block some more thought today. It really made more sense "then" to use on the trike I bought it for.
I did move the truck tonight after dark, the headlights do look brighter, closer to white.
