Head Lights Upgrade

93 F250 Has anyone changed the headlights out to brighter ones? I don't feel comfortable driving at night with them.

You could do the headlight relay mod which is basically just adding relays to the headlight positive wires and pulling power directly from the battery instead of the OEM setup which routes all headlight power through the headlight switch. I can't find the link for the headlight mod but maybe somebody else has it handy.

In my trucks, I added relays to both low/high beams, installed clear headlight lenses and upgraded to Sealight LED's. I can see great at night. Though the relays are great for taking the load off the headlight switch, getting rid of old yellow lenses is far more important and remember as bulbs age, they lose their brightness level. LED's go right in now, without modification and totally change everything. By far the biggest difference.

On amazon, you'll see this photo, and I can attest, it's not advertising gimmick. This is right on, especially if you started out with old bulbs.

They're not such much brighter as they are whiter. It's like pure white. It's like going from old standard bulbs to halogen bulbs back in the day, only I'm sure, even more so. Once you go LED, you'll never go back to old bulbs again. They're not that much more than normal bulbs anymore either.

Where did you get the clear lenses for the headlights.

Personally I like the original stock lights. I'm always wearing a cap at night and keeping my eyes on the fog line to keep from being blinded. I see some weird patterns through the windshield when an LED equipped vehicle is coming my way. The older type do not cast that pattern through my windshield.

Amazon. PIT66

Amazon Amazon

They're made in China and cheaply made (no other option that I know of). You want to trade over your hardware but once they're in there, they last well enough. Last set (depo brand I think they were called) lasted about 6-8 years or so before they started to yellow. I sanded and cleared them a few times to milk them to over 10 years but replaced them both this year as seen here.

To plug what into?....... Oh you got that relay kit? Imo, you shouldn't mess with that anymore. Now that LED bulbs are available for our trucks at affordable prices and are plug and play, there isn't a need for the relays anymore because the current draw is low with the LED bulbs. The relays wont do 1/10 the brightness level changing to LED bulbs will either. That was a great mod for the what are now "old school halogens" haha. I wired in my own relays, so I'm not sure about that plug, but if it's made to simply plug in, then I suspect it's on the drivers side. Pull the battery and trace the wires back from the headlight. It should be right there.
I don't think I payed much more than that kit for a set of LED bulbs.

I watched another video and figured it out. The only problem was that harness was not for my 1993. 91 year as the latest model for it. Just going to modify it some to use it. I really want to keep the halogen look . Thanks for your help.
