After 8 months, I finally clicked the youtube app in a parking lot away from my home wifi, and my cell's bluetooth and wifi off. The Youtube connected to something and was giving realtime content. I don't have the AT&T package, either, how is it connecting?
If its a new truck it will have a "Premium Connectivity" trial that uses the vehicles on board modem to connect to an ATT cell tower. Otherwise it is a $10 month subscription.
New as in 2025, built dec24, delivered jan25. I've heard that Ford works with cell providers for FordPass connectivity, is it that connection? if this is premium, now long does it last for? I don't need the youtube, just curious.
Yeah mine was a March 25 build date. If you look in the ford pass app on your phone under connected services It will show all active subscriptions with the trial expiration dates.
Generally, it's a year. My complimentary packages expire in 2 days. I may keep the connected NAV for when cell coverage is rough and we're towing the fifth wheel, but not sure yet. Maybe they'll offer up a deal! LOL!
Anyone else notice the poor sound quality when watching youtube. My daughter loves watching music videos when we are stuck in the truck waiting on my wife. The sound quality is terrible for some reason. I would probably subscribe to it if it weren't for that.
SOKY, funny you should mention music. When I was playing with it to see if it really was real time, I brought up Rolling Stones "2000 Light Years from Home". I loved that song when I was in grade school and a sci-fi nut, it blew my young mind.
I hate the sound quality of Sirius, it sound tinny and harsh. And I only go the same places in my truck, I don't use navigation on the truck or phone. And I blue tooth or hotspot my phone for my needs. I wont' be renewing anything if asked.

Ok, so I have a question because I am tech-tarded. When you say you clicked the YouTube app, do you mean the app is on your phone and it streams to the truck? If so, I assume it is only sound that comes through, correct? Video doesn't display on the 12" infotainment screen does it?
If you go to the Ford Pass app and go to connected services it will tell you when everything expires. Changing the subject, I have traffic turned on for my navigation and none of the roads show a green line, Is that normal? I does show red for a closed or for heavy traffic.
5meanfords- Clicking the youtube listed in the apps brings up youtube on the truck's display, just like on a computer screen. You type in what you want to see on the truck's display. I tried it while rolling along a deserted road, you have to be stopped to use it.

Thanks for the response. I tried to get this to work today when I got home from work. No such luck. The YouTube app will not show up on the truck infotainment screen when my phone is connected to the truck. My phone home screen shows on the truck infotainment screen. All my home screen app icons show up except for the YouTube app icon. I can click on the YouTube app on my phone and the sound will play through my truck speakers but no video at all. I can only assume that for some stupid reason Android Auto will not allow YouTube to display on my truck screen. I went into the settings on the phone and I am not able to see any way to get the YouTube app to show up.
