I have a 2002 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 4.0 V6 with an error code of P0455 - Large EVAP System Leak. I believe I may have discovered the problem. A hose from the purge canister does not seem to be connected to the return going back to the gas tank but I can't seem to find part numbers (or a diagram to make sure I have the right problem) to replace the hose or the return going from the engine bay back to the fuel tank. Any help out there?

I don't know about the '02 version, but my '91 has 2 hoses on the canister up front. One goes to the intake/throttle body. The other connects to a nylon tube that goes back by the fuel lines and fuel filter mounted to the frame and connects to the tank vent(s). Basically it is rubber on each end to connect with the nylon for the main run.
I believe my 02 Ranger has the same set up. Unfortunately, it's hard to find part numbers for the EVAP lines that seem to need replaced. Thank you.
Try inlinetub.com and search by year. It is economical and not too hard to couple together. Plus you can get the plastic fittings from dorman. I've seen people use brake flare tool to hold the line while heating to insert barb fittings.
