Hello all, so I’m thinking about ordering a grille insert from LMC for my 79. Does anyone here have any experience with the grilles from them? I bought other stuff from them that seem good. Prices for used beat ones on eBay are ridiculous I’d rather get a nice/new one.
Ok thank you, I might hold off until later. I bought my truck a couple years ago with a chrome billet grille and chrome push bar, I’ll keep rocking that.
I used the plastic inserts from LMC on my truck. They are one color and I wanted them to be dark around the headlights, so I did paint them bright silver and a dark grey. They fit well and look good. My originals were shot.
I have installed lmc's grill inserts twice. I have also installed their grill shell twice, and am getting ready to install another one that is sitting in the garage. I find them of reasonably good quality, and before I begin the work I just accept that I'll have to tweak/bend the tabs that hold the inserts a bit. Whenever work has been done to a vehicle and you're replacing body panels, there is always going to be some fitment issues. It's the same with the grill frames. As long as everything looks good when the work is finished, then tweaking and bending was simply part of the process. Good luck.
