Hey, all. Me and my brother are having a problem. It's a 92 ranger 2wd w/ a 93 2.3L 4-banger and mazda 5spd.
We took the tranny out and replaced the slave cylinder. We bought the cylinder from ford parts online. We bought it for a 93 ranger and it looked like the right one. We installed it and then went on to put in the tranny. We went to hook up the hydrolic line last, and the quick disconnect are the same in every way except it has a beveled edge built into it. The old cylinder has a beveled edge but it looks to be a pressed in part.
Please help, We really do not want to have to pull the tranny out again.
you will need to go to ford and get the tube for the 93 ranger. that was the cut off year for the change in the tubing connector. i ran into a similar problem when installing a 95 trans in a 91 f150 2wd. what a pain, but the tube will fix it.. Kurt
i am really unsure why for reengineered it. i know it almost fits, but doesn't. you will need to replace the "tube assembly" it is the tube with both connectors. dont try to just replace the one end. it wont happen. the hole tube is "shrinky dinked" after the connector are installed. the tube isn't expensive the one i needed was like 18.00 as i recall, and just poped in. the master cylinder end was the same on all ford rwd w hyd clutchs, but ford made 2 clutch slave ends. btw the hydaulic ends were all the same if it was a 351w f350 4wd or a 4cyl 2wd ranger.. an early one small and a late one larger..
