New here and need help
I have a 1999 Ford Extended cab Ranger and the check engine Light came on. Code on reader was p1405. Any ideas how to fix?

 

DPFE has a problem. Check up stream hose for plugging, EGR tube blocked or hoses off. Good luck.check this out and save.http://members.monarch.net/dave_r/dtc's.htm

How do I find that hose and or the DPFE?

 

Get yourself a manual, Haynes or Chiltons, found at most auto parts stores. also check out that web site.

The DPFE is on the front of the intake on a 3.0, what engine.

 

Found the probelm......one of the hoses attached to the DPFE was worn and torn.......replaced it and cleared the DTC and working good so far.
Bought the hose at the ford dealer ship...parts man said DPFE Sensor may go out.....but will see. But I know where it is, now....thanks all for the help
