I have a 2019 lariat with value package. it did not have ambient lighting. i went through and ran all the wires according to the electrical schematics and added the multicolor leds from 17/18 model truck using the part numbers form the other thread. the front lower dash/footwells and cup holder ones work fine. i tested each of the other ones as i added them off this same circuit and verified they worked. these are controlled from LINBUS (BCM C2280B Pin #13 / Wire VLN73) went through and pulled the carpet and ran wire for the doors and seats from the second LINBUS (BCM C2280E Pin #38 / Wire VDN13) as shown in the schematics but these lights do not work. they all get power from same source BCM C2280C Pin #4. is there something i have to change in forscan to enable control on this second lin bus?
what is the purpose of these being split across 2 different control circuits?
I have made these changes in forscan: 7D0-01-02 xx 0B xx xx xx xx 726-31-01 xx 02 xx xx xx xx 726-39-01 xx xx xx 01 xx xx
I found it, the driver door was the last one i did and i had a short at the door connection. unplugged driver door led and the rest came on and operate fine. was chasing my tail on this for few hours!
I’ve read on this site, that you must have pictures, or it never happened!
Always gives my brain something to do?
Here’s some pictures to get your brain thinking lol Ford put a bunch of programming into the LED modules and then never implemented into the rest of the truck…
Every LED is individually addressable so you can change any LED color but Ford didn’t implement that into sync 3 or the BCM programming.
I had to add the light ring and led module to the cupholder itself then I added the ambient lighting wiring to the console wiring. In my truck the Lin bus signal was at the front connector of the console (C215) but not on console side so I added wire from the front connector to the cupholder, then the power wire for the ambient lighting is supposed to come in from the connector at the passenger side floor (C3133) I also ran wire to this connector (both side) then ran to the led. Spliced off the ground on the other led grounds in the console harness. If you look at my first orginal post on this thread there is a pdf I posted of the wiring diagram for the ambient lighting configuration for my truck (2019 f250)
