firewall is color of truck. Inner fenders are black. Engine color I am uncertain about. I have a picture copied from a Ford brochure about 1965 engines -- it shows the engine as all black. I decided to go with Ford Blue myself. I have heard mention of "old ford blue". My engine was a remaned unit, direct from Ford in 1969 (original 240 burned oil from day one, acc. to my father). The remaned engine actually had a GREEN block, with black heads and valve covers. Not pretty.
I went with blue, and then black for all the bolt on stuff (manifolds, fuel pump, starter, fan etc. Looks OK, IMHO
There is 2 ford blue's you can buy in the rattle cans
Appropriately named... New and Old Ford Blue
The Old ford blue looks better in my opinion. Its more of a darker color
The newer one I don't like that much.
My entire motor is old ford blue
blue cap on dizzy, blue spark plug wires, pulleys are blue, but brackets are black.
I'll be posting pictures very soon
I removed the orriginal 240 from my 66 about 12 yrs ago and replaced it with a short block ( both had the old ford blue) the firewall was painted the orriginal beige and fender wells were black.
my 66 has the 240 which has the old ford blue still on it, valve cover the same color. all the pulleys and bolt ons are rusty hahaha. the fenders, black and firewall is the color of the truck.
My firewall was color of the truck also.
Sorry I forgot to add that.
I painted it semi-gloss black along w/ the fenders (as im not sure what color im painting the truck yet, and I liked it better black)
So its all blue motor, chrome valve covers and air cleaner, black brackets. Blue pulleys
So its all either semi gloss black, Old Ford Blue, or Chrome
