I’ve been delaying this steering column reassembly because every time I touch it I get mad.
finally got the seals in today and can’t figure out how they are supposed to go on. I want to do this right the first time otherwise this truck will never drive again haha
attached is a photo of the seals I bought. Neither of them match the original but were meant for this truck
They were both purchased from Denis carpenter
Probably gasket then metal then that sleeve just goes over it? Or it could be that some people want a sleeve on the column so that other one might just be a different style gasket. I don't see much of a problem if it doesn't fit that well all that seal probably does is keep dirt and water out. Never have taken apart on of those columns I'm just throwing stuff and the wall lol

lol yeah I ended up doing something similar and it seemed to work. Back together and seems to be good. I’m calling it there and filling it with caulk if it leaks, you know what they say, do your best and caulk the rest

This may help. I just did this and the rubber gasket sits on top of the metal plate looking from inside the cab.
