Question Power Running Boards

I am having issues with my power running boards. My Passenger side is deployed, drivers side will not deploy. I changed my battery and when I go into my settings to changed my running boards from "Off" or "Auto" or "Out", it will not allow me to select either "Auto" or "Out". I really don't want to go to the dealer if it is something fairly simple. Can anyone assist, or has anyone else ran in to this issue?

I’d recommend getting forscan and the recommended adapter on there site and read the codes, more than likely the running board is probably seized up and the motor can’t produce enough torque to over come the higher resistance. This is normal in the winter when they get frozen in place.

You will probably have a C1002 code.

Do you have mud flaps? I always recommended them when I was a service writer. I've always put them on my trucks with power boards. I always thought that it protected the motor on the boards, besides helping keep the boards clean. I may be wrong, but that's my reason/excuse. FWIW
