Power running boards selection changed

Twice now when I went o get in my truck the power running boards did not extend. When I went to the selection the AUTO was not checked and OFF was checked. I originally happened a few weeks ago and I thought it was an overnight software update that changed the selection.

Yesterday ot happened again. Power running boards were no longer set to AUTO but set to OFF.

Has anyone else had this issue.

I’d start by doing a reset on the truck by disconnecting the battery for a bit. Amazing how many issues that can solve on new vehicles, not just Fords.

May want to have the batteries checked also while you're at it.

Do you have anything plugged into the OBDII port? Every time I run my scan tool on the truck it disables the RB. Thats a LONG first step when you don't realize the step didn't deploy!

No, Nothing plugged into OBDII port. Truck is stock configuration. . Never had forscan or anything pugged into OBDII.

Today Power running boards are working as designed. Yes, it's a LONG Step to CLIMB into truck without running boards.

Hope you don't do like I did and miss that first step getting OUT. LOL If it weren't for the car next to me I would have been flat on my back.

Check your fordpass app and see if you got an update, if ford sent you the GWM update, it will turn them off, you wil have to turn them back on.
