No kidding. But at least the chiefs lost.

I watched the Valkyries eek out the Wings Thursday night. Fun to watch, and it's great they made the playoffs in their inaugural year.

The Valkyries gives us more sports entertainment options. The team has certainly gotten off to a good start. They have been able to do what a lot of WNBA teams can't. Sell tickets.

Professional sports interests are slowly shifting. I see MLB games being played to empty seats. That can't continue much longer. If people don't care enough to buy a ticket, who is buying the merch?

Can't afford to buy a ticket personally and driving up to SF to see the Giants is also out of the question.

Jim, if you ever make the trek to The City, I'll let you buy me lunch at Sam Wo.

The pitch timer made the games a lot more fun to watch. Prior to that rule change, you could spend a couple of minutes waiting for the pitcher and batter to psych each other out.

We don't get up there often, but when we do, we sometimes get to sit in the owner's box. Our nephew is friends with the owners, and is on the regular camera crew. If the owners aren't there (which is often the case), he can get us special permission to come down and sit there. It's an awesome place to watch the game.

The only good thing about televised sports is the pot-luck.

I think MLB sees the revenue loss. They're finally trying to figure out why people are not watching. NBA and NFL teams don't play to empty seats. And now even some WNBA are selling out.

When I was a kid, we used to take The Bus to a bad part of town, then walk about a mile through Gangland, to go to games. MUNI didn't have ballpark shuttles back then. The Giants weren't winning. Candlestick Park, wasn't empty. People used to show up because they wanted to see The Game

In today's world, I don't know. As if nobody wants to watch baseball anymore. Just before The Athletics left Oakland, the ballpark was always empty. They couldn't give tickets away for free. I see the same thing with televised games, where seats are empty. I wonder how much longer that can last

I have no credibility. Just a loudmouth with unfounded opinions. For the past decade, I have had the opinion that MLB should invite international teams. Much more exciting if we can watch an American team play a team from Japan, or Cuba. Or at least an American team of all-star players versus a team from another country. But even that won't save The League for a whole season.

Some people will do anything for money. I doubt I'll ever make it to SF, but if I did, I would NOT go there. They don't even have forks. LOL

No munchies, but the owner's box does have a closed circuit TV where you can watch instant replays. When we've had relatives in town, it's been a real perc, and he has on a couple of occasions gotten our rels autographed *****.

Attending a sports event is now a luxury item. The total costs including parking, refreshments, and souvenirs can set you back more than an amusement park. Hard for a lot of people to work such an outing into their budgets.

Maybe my memory is faulty.. Perhaps it was a better economy and the dollar was stronger. I distinctly recall being a child, and being able to afford to go to games. I don't see how kids can afford to do it today.

The last time I went to a game was with my dad. I don't remember if it was an Angel game or a Dodger game but most likely it was an Angel game as dad was a huge Angel fan. We only went to a Dodger game if it was some sort of special day, like Henry Aaron's last season, we went to see the Braves play the Dodgers. Since dad was not a Dodger fan, not to mention we lived about 4 miles from Angel stadium and maybe 20-ish miles from Dodger stadium. I remember one Angel game where they played the Orioles (my favorite American league team) and Eddie Murray hit 4 home runs that game with the last one being a grand slam. After the grand slam everyone stood and applauded him. He came out of the dugout and tipped his cap. I kept the newspaper report of that game for decades, but like an idiot threw it away quite some time ago. I tried to get tickets for a Giant's game while they were still at Candlestick Park a few years ago and nearly had a heart attack when I saw the price. I can only imagine what they are selling for now. It was not in my budget back then and it is most certainly not in my budget now.

That is it? I must have been looking at different seats because I remember it being over $200.
