351 h.o.
Hey guys, I did a car fax check a while back on my Bronco and the report listed the motor as a 351 H.O. what is there about this motor that makes it and H.O. I was just curious, because I may rebuild it in the summer and i was wondering if there is anhything special about the heads or cam so I can know what I sould save for to tweak it a little, any info would be greatly appreciated

I dont know, but i wouldnt think there coulda been too much special about an 87 carburated bronco, except whatever it needed to get it past inspection for the last carburated vehicle ford ran off the production lines. any one got any definate answers?

THe H.O. was supposed to have a different cam and heads than the regular 351W. It was rated at 40 more HP for the H.O., which I think stands for "High Output". I do know that it had a P.O.S. Holley 4bbl. carb that you should replace when rebuilding the motor. I used a longblock kit from NAPA AUto Parts for my '84 Bronco, which used an '85 model block and heads. I kept the internals stock to save cost, and spent my money on a new Edelbrock intake and Holley 600cfm carb. I'm supposed to have 235 HP with this set-up, and I have no problem turning 35's with the stock 3.50 gears.
